A 5 star emotional intelligence coaching package (5 sessions)

In this unique, practical, 5-star emotional intelligence coaching package there is a series of five personally tailored 1-1 coaching sessions with the Director of The Emotional Intelligence Institute, Rachel Green. The main thrust of the coaching is centered around the results on the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso-Emotional-Intelligence-Test (MSCEIT), the gold standard ability-measure in emotional intelligence assessment, in combination with your requests and needs as the client.

It is also supported by an additional assessment: the Judgment Index or JI. This assesses your decision-making, levels of empathy and assertiveness, coupled with your people skills and stress management skills.

The programme

Prior to commencing the programme you will complete an online Mayer-Salovey-Caruso-Emotional-Intelligence-Test, (MSCEIT). This is the gold-standard EI ability measure.

Session 1 - Assessing your levels of EI

  • We begin with an initial 2 hour coaching session to ascertain the issues you most want covered and your current levels of emotional intelligence. It will include the analysis and presentation of your MSCEIT assessment results, and provide you with some initial emotional intelligence coaching. You will take away specific action steps plus a MSCEIT report on your results.
  • The MSCEIT will provide insights into the emotional drivers of your behaviour, your ability to read others' emotions, your skills in understanding and reasoning with emotions, your ability to predict and understand emotions in yourself and others, your ability to factor accurate emotional data into your decision-making, people management and communication skills, and your ability to apply relevant techniques to influence your own and others' emotions.
  • The data gained from the MSCEIT will inform all future sessions and be integrated into them.
  • Work-sheets to help you develop your emotional literacy will be given as this helps in reading your own and other people's emotions.

Embedding your development: Between session 1 and 2 you will be encouraged to complete an emotional self-awareness task and to send a video blog to Rachel for further feedback. The task will be selected in session one, to best suit your needs.

Session 2 - Advancing your Emotional Intelligence

  • This will be a practical session focused on specific emotional intelligence skills that you need to develop as applied to your current or future work. Coaching will concentrate on the applications of emotional intelligence in your specific areas of need and will include emotional self-management and the emotional management of others, so that you increase your influence. It will be individually tailored to you.

Areas that may be focused on include:

  • Reducing your stress reactions and building your resilience.
  • Lowering your anger, frustration or anxiety and building healthy emotional states so you flourish more easily.
  • Reducing friction in customer, colleague or stakeholder relationships and building more constructive, effective relationships.
  • Reading your own and others' emotions more accurately so you get fewer surprises.
  • Preparing emotionally for difficult situations so you are effective across a range of situations.
  • Developing greater skills in the recognition, expression and management of both positive and negative emotions in yourself and others.
  • Finding practical ways to shift your emotional state so you're in the best emotion for each task.
  • Understanding and managing your impact on others and developing greater influence.

Ongoing assessment: Between session 2 and session 3 you will complete an online Judgment Index (JI) Profile. This is the 5-star decision-making capability measure.

Session 3 - Emotionally intelligent communication and decisions

  • This will consist of a 2 hour coaching session based around the results of a Judgment Index (JI) assessment. This is a measure of your decision-making and judgment capabilities and these are influenced by your emotional intelligence. 
  • It also provides invaluable information as to how effectively you handle stress and conflict, provide empathy, take care of yourself, assert yourself, tolerate conflict and much more. It is very comprehensive and eye-opening.
  • Emotions impact greatly on decision-making. If you find it emotionally tiring to deal with difficult people for example, but also display high levels of empathy, you may find yourself avoiding hard decisions and being walked over. This assessment will show whether this kind of situation happens or not.
  • Along with the analysis and input of an experienced JI trained consultant, (Rachel Green), you will also receive a very comprehensive report of your results (approx. 44 pages) plus two coloured charts of the overall scores to take away.
  • The session will also provide you with a structured, clear technique, called the clarity-wheel, to help you logically and effectively factor emotions into your decision-making. This will help you form well-grounded decisions and enable you to explain your decisions more easily and clearly. It is not about making emotional decisions but making emotionally intelligent ones.
  • You will also be able to practise making real and relevant emotionally intelligent decisions using Rachel's seven-step emotional decision-making strategy.

Embedding your development: Between sessions 3 and 4 you will be encouraged to make and communicate three emotionally intelligent decisions and gain further feedback from Rachel by sending her three short video blogs or completed worksheets. The task will be selected in session three, to best suit your needs.

Session 4 - Refining your EI

  • A follow-up 2 hr coaching session to measure your progress and determine further refinements and applications for you to continue developing your emotional intelligence in the areas most important to you.
  • There can be a focus on developing calm under crisis and continuing to harness the use of positive emotions to develop your resilience and a flourishing team.
  • There can also be a further focus on better people management, self-management and communication skills.
  • The session can consider ways to engage people and their emotions. This is a fundamentally important emotional intelligence skill, as emotions drive behaviour. All professionals and leaders need to be able to influence behaviour positively.
  • You will be introduced to further emotionally intelligent self-management techniques, as required. 
  • You will be provided with relevant practical exercises and materials to assist and guide you. This will include a free copy of our 2 DVD programme, "How to develop emotional resilience and manage your emotions" with a RRP of $149. 
  • A lot of material will have been covered in the previous 3 sessions because of the assessments. This session will be an important opportunity to further your learning in each of the areas you most need and to integrate them in a practical way into your emotional intelligence development.

Embedding your development: Between sessions 4 and 5 you will be encouraged to watch the DVD, and try out a new emotionally intelligent technique and gain further feedback from Rachel by sending her a video blog. The technique will be selected in session four, to best suit your needs.

Session 5 - Consolidating your EI development

  • A final 2 hour coaching session to identify your progress and to consolidate your emotional intelligence development in a practical way. There is usually a space of approximately 4 weeks between sessions 4 and 5 so you have the time to apply your learning and bring back reports of your success and areas for further development. 
  • A comprehensive range of techniques and material will have been covered in the previous sessions. This will be a critical opportunity to consolidate your emotional intelligence development in each of the areas you requested and to integrate them into an emotionally intelligent work-style.
  • Identifying the emotional ground rules you will estsablish at work or home can be included, as can the development of an emotional self-care plan.
  • Ways to be an emotionally intelligent role-model at work or home can also be included.
  • The next steps in your emotional intelligence development journey will be identified so you know what to do next and how to do it.

Two assessment fees

  • MSCEIT assessment: $180 + GST = $198. This needs to be paid in full before we can start it, and once started can't be refunded.
  • Judgment Index: $360 + GST = $396. This needs to be paid in full before we can start it, and once started can't be refunded. (An additional Leadership profile can be added for an extra $108.)

Plus your choice of session fees

  • Our usual face-to-face session fees in our offices in Kelmscott, Western Australia are $600 + GST = $660 per session. For this package there is a special rate of $490 + GST = $539 per session. Total for five sessions: $2450 + GST= $2695
  • Our usual Skype or ClickWebinar online session fees are $500 + GST = $550 per 2 hr session. For this package there is a special rate of $480 + GST = $528 per session. Total for five sessions: $2400 + GST = $2640
  • NB: For sessions in your offices in Perth, Western Australia there is an additional fee of $200 +GST = $220 per session.

Rachel Green:

  • She is the Director of the Emotional Intelligence Institute, an emotional intelligence and people engagement specialist, and one of Australia's most dynamic expert speakers and sought-after emotional intelligence and MSCEIT coaches.
  • She has specialised in the emotional intelligence area for over 15 years and in the areas of communication skills and personality for over 25 years.
