Understanding emotional intelligence: The essentials

Understanding emotional intelligence: The essentials

What is all the fuss about emotional intelligence? What is it exactly? What good is it? Learn what emotional intelligence is and isn't and find out why all seven dimensions of EI really matter at work.

The business case for emotional intelligence is now firmly established - even to the point of research proving that those with higher levels of emotional intelligence earn more money, have less absenteeism and cope better with organisational stress.

What this emotional intelligence live tele-class will cover:

  2. Understanding the emotional drivers of behaviour and why people behave in the way they do.
  3. Cutting through the myths and hype - understanding what emotional intelligence isn't.
  4. The seven dimensions of emotional intelligence and how they impact on work interactions and morale.
  5. The pioneering work of Mayer and Salovey - the leading researchers into emotional intelligence - and why it's important.
  6. Understanding why people may not act on information you give them.
  7. How to measure emotional intelligence - what assessments are available.

Testimonials

Delivered excellent content

This was the first webinar/tele-class I've attended. It was easy and a really convenient way to receive training - all in the comfort of my dining room! Rachel delivered excellent content and had plenty of great practical examples. I thoroughly recommend this type of training.

I would recommend Rachel's live tele-classes to anyone

Rachel's presentation was short, sharp and to the point; and I was able to take away so much from it, even though we only had an hour. I would recommend Rachel's live tele-classes to anyone wanting to acquire new skills, brush-up on old ones or discover something about themselves.

Cherie Wallace, Coordinator Statutory Planning, City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia.
Changed my life completely, and for good

While listening to Rachel during the presentation there was a click in my mind that changed my perception about work and life completely and for good. Since then I've recommended her to two of the persons I deal with on a daily basis; my beloved wife and my boss, with great results.

David Fernandez, Manager, IBN Corporation, Tom Price, WA.
Enormously beneficial

Just want to let you know how much I enjoyed the live tele-class on emotional intelligence last week. It was at a time which really suited me in that I could finish work, log onto the tele-class, complete the sesson and still be home in time for dinner! Once the class started I found it really easy to follow and I could ask questions via the chat box. The information you gave us is enormously beneficial.

Kerry Morrison, Training and Workforce Development Consultant, CommunityWest. WA.
Excellent.

After the webinar/tele-class I can now see that conversations are about relationships and not time filling! It was excellent. I got lots of topic ideas. Thanks very much.
