Myers Briggs Personality Profile: MBTI

What it is

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) has been one of the best known and most used personality profiles for decades and is supported by statistics based on millions of users. It is based on Jungian psychology and moves beyond the more restricted personality profiles which only consider 4 types and determines which of 16 different personality types you are. In addition it identifies the communication style, leadership style and stress triggers associated with each type.

Who is it for

  • Individuals who want to understand themselves better, identify their best career path, and overcome potential personality and communication style clashes.
  • Couples who want to live together with greater harmony, fewer arguments and greater tolerance for their differences.
  • Teams who want to understand each other better, identify their team strengths and weaknesses, and work out how to get the best out of the team and be more productive.

How you will benefit

  • Your personality type influences everything you do - the way you communicate, the impact you have on others, what you complain about, which career you excel in, what you wish for, who attracts you, who irritates you and whom you irritate, and even what stresses you and why.
  • Yet it can be unseen, unknown and unexplained. Just a silent influence on who you are, pulling you in a certain direction without your knowing why.
  • By knowing your personality type you will have more control over the impact you have on others, understand your strengths and weaknesses more, and be able to bridge the gap between yourself and other types and thus lessen the likelihood for frustration, conflict and misunderstanding.
  • You will gain world-class coaching by a very experienced MBTI practitioner to help you understand the practical significance of your type on your career, your leadership skills, your communication and your relationships.
  • It will help you be your best.

What it comprises

  • The MBTI identifies and describes, in depth, 16 distinctive personality types that result from the interactions among a set of 8 preferences: Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I); Sensing (S) or Intuition (N); Thinking (T) or Feeling (F); and Judging (J) or Perceiving (P).
  • By analysing your preferences in each category your own personality type is determined, and expressed as a code with four letters, eg ENTP, ISTJ, ISFP, ENFJ.
  • The MBTI profile is usually conducted and scored in a 2 hour coaching session when an individual isinvolved.
  • When a team are involved it usually involves a half-day or full-day workshop on team building using the MBTI.

What it costs

There are two stages in having the MBTI assessment. Two fees are therefore involved.

  • Firstly, the cost of completing the individual 16 type MBTI profile. We try to keep the price down on this by using a paper based system, as it saves hundreds of dollars. The cost is only $70 plus 10% GST = $77 per person. Each person also gets a printed book on all of the 16 types to keep.
  • Secondly, a session with Rachel to validate, discuss and interpret the results. The cost of the two hour, 1-1 session with Rachel varies according to the location.
  • On our premises in Kelmscott, (Perth) Western Australia, a 2 hour coaching session is $600 + GST = $660 + MBTI= $737.
  • A 2 hour Skype coaching session is $500 + GST = $550 + MBTI= $627
  • NB: If you wish Rachel to travel to you in Perth/Fremantle there is an additional $200 + GST = $220 = $957.

Two people may come to the same MBTI coaching session for the individual session fee.

NB: Discount: When the MBTI is done as part of a coaching package there is no charge for the administration and sessional fees are reduced.
